Sanctuary Renovation Campaign
August, 22nd, 2019
On August 14, in preparation for the Feast of the Assumption,
we were able to assemble the Lady altar, as can be seen in the pictures.
The tabernacle, etc, was purchased through your generosity, as was the statue of Our Lady, Queen.
July 12th, 2019
We present some pictures to show the new altar in place!
The altar itself, as well as the gradine and tabernacle are here in place. These consist of two separate but integral pieces - of incredible weight!
The central tower, another integral piece of the altar assembly is going up in this photo. Two oak columns are also a part of this piece and were added at the last moment as it was set into place.
Our new High Altar. This was one of about six side altars from a closed Franciscan monastery in Belgium. The five carved panels (the two retables and three symbols on the altar itself) came from a different altar and were very slightly modified to fit into the oak framing of this altar assembly. It's proportions are very good and admirably fits into space in our oratory.
The altar from further back, showing a broader perspective.

In counterpoint to the opening of the summit on abuse in Rome,
the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem are launching at the same time
a fundraising campaign to renovate the sanctuary and choir of their church.
This is a sign of the vitality of their priestly community and the ever increasing number of faithful
who benefit by their preaching, celebration of the Sacraments and other pastoral works.
